I have been designing jewelry for over 30 years. I started with a bag of beads in the 80s when bigger was better. As times and fashion changed, shoulder pads shrank, and style evolved into clean and modern lines, I turned to metals and an edgier design. I worked with sterling silver and experimented with other materials to create a collection that was elegant in black and vermeil, yet playful in silver and blues.
This flexibility to adapt to trends allowed me to improve my skills while designing for other brands. Every new contract led to a better understanding of each brand’s nuances which means that I can translate emerging trends to reflect the individual brand’s DNA.
Although influenced by groundbreaking artists like Robert Lee Morris, Elsa Schiaparelli and Art Smith, my work was most impacted by the styles of the 70s - the Palm Beach eclectic mix of moneyed boho style, which combined costume pieces with fine jewelry like Seaman Shepps and Chanel. This style infuses classic European designs with the innovation of the American Spirit.
My extensive experience enables me to design a whole collection based on just one piece of inspiration, giving the customer the right range of styles and price points tor a successful brand whether well established or just launching.
